Terry Earns West Region Assistant Coach of the Year Honors

CALDWELL, Idaho — College of Idaho assistant coach Bryan Terry has been named the USTFCCCA West Region Men's Outdoor Track and Field Assistant Coach of the Year, recognizing a standout 2026 season leading the Yotes' throws program.

Under Terry's direction, the College of Idaho men's throwers delivered one of the most dominant performances at the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships, accounting for 66 of the team's points. The group's depth and consistency were evident throughout the season, with multiple athletes ranking among the top performers in the NAIA.

At the CCC Championships, Terry coached three athletes to all-conference honors. Keenan Blair earned all-conference recognition in three events: shot put, discus, and hammer. Reed Martin secured all-conference honors in the discus, and Lucas Midgett did the same in the hammer throw. Blair's historic meet also earned him Cascade Conference Championships Most Valuable Performer honors after scoring 24 points, winning the shot put, and adding podium finishes in both the discus and hammer.

The Yotes' shot put unit emerged as one of the nation's elite, finishing the year as the No. 3 NAIA Event Squad. Four College of Idaho athletes surpassed the 15-meter mark during the season, helping the group reach as high as No. 2 in the USTFCCCA event squad rankings.

Individually, several Yotes ranked among the top 50 nationally in their respective events. In the shot put, Keenan Blair ranked No. 20 with a mark of 16.41 meters, followed by Easton St. Germain at No. 38 with 15.76 meters and Patxi Franks at No. 46 with 15.49 meters. In the discus, Reed Martin ranked No. 26 with a top mark of 49.07 meters, while Blair added a No. 29 ranking at 48.70 meters.

The hammer throw group also made its mark nationally, with Lucas Midgett ranked No. 43 at 52.62 meters and Blair ranked No. 46 at 52.30 meters. In the javelin, freshman Evan Anderson ranked No. 24 with a throw of 59.10 meters, earning an NAIA "B" standard.

As a unit, the Yotes' throws squad reached as high as No. 6 nationally in the discus, No. 10 in the hammer, and No. 15 in the javelin, highlighting the program's across-the-board strength. Keenan Blair and Evan Anderson will represent the Yotes on the national stage.

Terry's leadership played a key role in establishing College of Idaho as one of the premier throws programs in the NAIA this season, combining high-level individual performances with exceptional depth across all disciplines.
