Multi-Event Success Paces Yotes at CCC Championships

ASHLAND, Ore. - The College of Idaho track and field team turned in a strong showing at the Cascade Collegiate Conference Multi-Event Championships, hosted by Southern Oregon University, highlighted by multiple all-conference finishes, school records and national qualifying marks.

On the men's side, Trevor Treat led the way with a fourth-place finish in the decathlon, totaling 5,952 points to earn five CCC championship points. Treat's performance ranks sixth all-time in program history and currently sits 14th nationally in the NAIA. He added an event title during the competition, winning the 100 meters in 10.98 seconds to secure a conference qualifier and move into ninth on the Yotes all-time list.

Bryson Montag followed closely, placing seventh overall in the decathlon with 5,790 points for two championship points. Montag now ranks eighth in program history and 20th nationally. He captured an individual victory in the 110-meter hurdles, running 14.81 seconds, a mark that stands second all-time at The College of Idaho.

Evan Anderson produced one of the standout moments of the meet, placing 13th in the decathlon with 5,228 points and setting a school record in the javelin. Anderson's throw of 57.95 meters earned him second place in the event and currently ranks 20th in the NAIA. Aiden Fiske rounded out the Yotes competitors on the men's side, finishing 15th overall with 4,426 points, which ranks 14th all-time at The College of Idaho.

The women's heptathlon saw Mattie Shirts deliver an all-conference performance, finishing third overall with 4,326 points to earn six CCC championship points. Shirts now ranks sixth all-time in program history and sits 11th nationally. She added a fourth-place finish in the javelin with a throw of 32.62 meters, ranking 10th all-time for the Yotes.

Stella Gray secured a key point for The College of Idaho by finishing eighth overall with 3,625 points, placing 15th all-time in program history. Keira Merryman finished 10th with 3,351 points, ranking 17th all-time, while Graycee Litton placed 12th with 3,087 points, moving into 18th on the program's all-time list.

Overall, The College of Idaho tallied valuable conference points across both multi events, highlighted by individual event wins, national marks and multiple entries into the program record book.

The Yotes now turn their attention to the remainder of the Cascade Collegiate Conference Track and Field Championships, scheduled for May 8-9 at Eastern Oregon University in La Grande, Oregon.
