CLARKSTON, Wash. — The College of Idaho opened the spring golf season with strong performances on both sides at the Warrior Spring Classic, hosted by Lewis and Clark State College at Red Wolf Golf Course. The Yotes women placed second overall with a team score of 83-over, while the men took fifth at 18-over for the tournament.
Reece Garey picked up right where she left off last season, leading the Yotes women with a two-day total of 12-over. Garey carded a 5-over opening round before finishing day two at 7-over to secure a top-five finish.
Lauryn Bulger and Olivia Lammey joined her inside the top ten, tying for eighth at 20-over across the tournament. Bulger shot 9-over on day one and 11-over on day two. Lammey matched Bulger's opening-round 9-over and closed with a 12-over second round. Karissa Goff finished 20th, while Halle Richter placed 22nd to round out the Yotes' scoring.
On the men's side, Lucas Rynearson led the way with a sixth-place finish behind a strong three-round total of 5-under. Rynearson opened with his best round of the tournament, a 2-under 70, followed by a 3-over second round and an even-par final round.
Carson King and Holden Howell tied for 17th at 7-over. Nathan Ishaya finished tied for 20th at 8-over after shooting 2-over in both the first and third rounds and 4-over in the second. Parker Edwards closed the Yotes' scoring at 10-over, tying for 26th. All rounds were played at a par of 70.
The Yotes continue their spring schedule next at The Bandy on April 6th and 7th in Page Arizona at the Lake Powell National Golf Course.
