LA GRANDE, Ore. - The College of Idaho men's and women's track and field teams turned in a dominant day at the Eastern Oregon University Lew Thorne Invitational on Saturday, posting 17 new entries into the program's all-time Top 10 list and tallying 56 personal records as their indoor season continued to build momentum.
MEN
Freshman sprinter Cash Mckie highlighted the day on the track, winning the 200 meters in 23.43 seconds (22.73 converted), a time that moves him to No. 5 in C of I history. Mckie also placed fifth in the 60 meters.
Kenyon Carter added another victory for the Yotes, winning the 60-meter hurdles in 8.37, improving his own No. 2 all-time mark. Carter also placed seventh in the 60 meters and helped the Yotes win the 4x400 relay.
Middle-distance runners Madden Ryan and Matt Wilde delivered major all-time marks in the 600, running converted times of 1:23.51 and 1:23.58 to move to No. 3 and No. 4 in program history.
In the mile, Collin De Julio ran away with the win in 4:19.97 (4:15.19 converted), the sixth-fastest in school history, leading a pack of five C of I runners in the top seven.
The jumps group produced multiple standout performances, including Eli Hayes and Xavier Harms, who tied for the best C of I triple jump mark of the day at 13.05 meters, finishing second and third.
Throwers also dominated, led by Keenan Blair, who won the shot put with a 15.29-meter toss, improving his own No. 3 all-time mark, then placed second in the weight throw. Patxi Franks joined the Top 10 list with a 14.72-meter shot put mark, now No. 7 all-time.
The men capped the day with a victory in the 4x400 relay, as Eric Brower, Carter, Mckie and Trevor Treat clocked 3:35.23 (3:29.77 converted), the No. 9 performance in school history.
WOMEN
The women's team also stacked up all-time performances, particularly in the throws and middle-distance events.
Freshman Thrower Helene Rae continued her strong season, winning the shot put in 13.19 meters while improving her own No. 3 mark in school history. She added a runner-up finish in the weight throw, moving to No. 8 all-time.
Freshman Paiten Braseth posted a major breakthrough in the 800 meters, placing fourth in 2:24.28 (2:21.95 converted), the No. 9 time in program history. Teammate Josie Patton followed in fifth.
In the jumps, Sara Vanderwyk claimed the triple jump title at 10.10 meters, while Keira Merryman finished second. Mattie Shirts earned the Yotes' lone women's victory in the high jump at 1.57 meters.
Sprinters Allison Horsley (second in the 200) and Jada Miller (fourth in long jump, seventh in 60 meters) also posted strong days, with Horsley running a converted 27.14 to finish runner-up.
The women's 4x400 relay of Jovi Kuskie, Patton, Macy Eggart and Braseth finished second in 4:19.67 (4:14.45 converted).
The Yotes will continue their indoor campaign next week as they prepare for championship season, carrying significant momentum from one of the strongest all-around performances in program history.
