FOREST GROVE, Ore. — The College of Idaho capped a flawless 4-0 weekend in Oregon on Sunday, grinding out a 5-2 win over Pacific University to close its road swing on a high note.
The Yotes had to battle from behind after dropping the doubles point, despite a convincing 6-1 win from Hristina Ljuba and Nicole Tran at the No. 2 spot. But once singles play began, College of Idaho surged.
Ljuba, Lina Boylan, Berkley Klarich and Adele Long swept the top four courts to secure the needed four points and take control of the match. Freshman Alyssa Johnson added another victory at No. 6, widening the final margin to 5-2.
"I'm elated, as this team seemed to play better each day with mental toughness and determination to play 'their' game," head coach Jennifer Swing said. "The very things we have been working on in practice. Despite some soreness and small injuries, they played their hearts out in true Yote fashion."
With the win, the Yotes return to Caldwell riding a four-match surge and carrying significant momentum into the next stretch of their season.
