PHOENIX, Ariz. - The College of Idaho women's tennis team was edged in a clinch match against Stanton on Thursday, with the Yotes falling 4-0 before several tightly contested matches could be completed.
Stanton secured the doubles point and carried that momentum into singles play, clinching the team victory with three straight wins to reach the four-point threshold.
Despite the final scoreline, College of Idaho showed strong form across the unfinished matches. Hristina Ljuba and Alyssa Johnson had each pushed into decisive third sets at the Nos. 2 and 6 positions, while Nicole Tran held the advantage in her match at No. 5 when play was halted.
The Yotes' competitiveness throughout the lineup highlighted a closer battle than the score indicates, as multiple matches remained in reach at the time of the clinch.
College of Idaho will look to carry that momentum forward as they continue their Arizona road trip.
