LA GRANDE, Ore. - The College of Idaho capped the indoor track and field regular season with a strong showing at the Last Chance meet hosted by Eastern Oregon University, earning two national qualifying marks, multiple school records and more than 100 personal bests across two days.
Between Friday and Saturday, the Yotes recorded one new NAIA "A" standard, one new "B" standard, 24 new C of I top 10 marks and 77 personal records.
Friday Highlights
The men's 4x800-meter relay of Madden Ryan, Matt Wilde, Isaac Edwards and Oclan Ryan set a school record in 7:59.89 (7:49.48 converted) to finish second. In the weight throw, Keenan Blair led the way at 16.50 meters with teammates Tyson Terry (16.21 meters, No. 6 all-time) and Lucas Midgett (16.18 meters, No. 7 all-time) close behind. Eli Hayes and Isaiah Castillo added fourth- and seventh-place finishes in the triple jump.
Trevor Treat cleared 1.86 meters in the heptathlon high jump, moving to No. 5 in program history at College of Idaho.
The women's 4x800-meter relay delivered the day's lone national "A" mark, as Josie Patton, Paiten Braseth, Kiely Munson and Kylee Quinton set a school record in 9:31.17 (9:21.92 converted) to finish second. Kiriann Johnson won the pole vault at 3.40 meters, with Abigail Williams taking second at 3.25 meters while improving her own No. 3 all-time C of I mark. Sara Vanderwyk (triple jump), Taylor Durfey (weight throw) and Kota Bussen (pentathlon and pentathlon high jump) also recorded top 10 program marks.
Saturday Highlights
Blair added the Yotes' second national qualifier of the weekend with a NAIA "B" standard in the men's shot put, winning the event at 15.98 meters, the No. 2 mark in school history.
Sprinter Cash Mckie produced two top 10 efforts, running 7.14 in the 60 meters (No. 6 all-time) and winning the 200 in 22.92 (22.23 converted), the No. 2 mark in C of I history. Distance runner Collin De Julio won the mile in 4:15.85 (4:11.15 converted), improving his own No. 5 all-time mark. Treat added another all-time performance with a runner-up heptathlon score of 4505 (4542 converted), moving to No. 6 in school history.
For the women, Julia Gilbert won the mile in 5:12.08 (5:08.06 converted), climbing to No. 9 all-time. In the throws, Helene Rae won the shot put at 13.67 meters, leading a 1–2 finish with Stella Gray. Mattie Shirts added a high jump win at 1.57 meters.
Additional top 10 marks came from Jovi Kuskie and Braseth in the 1000 meters, Jada Miller in the sprints, Vanderwyk in the long jump and Bussen in the high jump.
