Pullman, Wash. - The College of Idaho took on PNCLL Division 1 foe Washington State and took no time in establishing a big lead. The Yotes were up 7-0 at the end of the first quarter and would pounce on a 18-3 victory on the road.
To help dominate possesion, the Yotes won 64% of faceoffs in the game.
Noah Geise won 10 of his 15 faceoffs. Goalkeeper
Brogan Rice was perfect and saved every shot he faced. Defensively,
Carter Pechin again led the Yotes by causing six turnovers and grabbing six groundballs in the afternoon.
Luqa Longstreet and
Zac Shoopman both grabbed four groundballs.
In the attack,
Wyatt Neu dominated to score six and added an assist to collect seven points.
Grayson Flatten led the Yotes in points with eight coming from a pair of goals and six assists.
Trevor Shoopman also had a strong outing with four goals and a pair of assists.Â
The Yotes will return home for their first game of the season at Simplot Stadium against Pacific Lutheran University on February 21st. The game starts at noon mountain time.
