NAMPA, Idaho - The College of Idaho women's cross country team opened Homecoming weekend with a narrow victory Friday at the NNU Invitational, while the men's squad earned a runner-up finish at West Park.
The Yotes women finished with 46 points and an average time of 23:22.99, edging host Northwest Nazarene by just two points in what serves as C of I's closest meet to home. Junior transfer Rozzlyn Cazier, making her debut in purple, led the way with a fourth-place overall finish. Kylee Quinton followed seven seconds later in fifth, while freshmen Ainsley Bowen and Paiten Braseth both cracked the top 10 to secure the team win.
On the men's side, the Yotes posted 47 points and an average of 26:11.94 to finish between NNU and College of Southern Idaho. Collin De Julio placed fifth and Oclan Ryan took sixth, the only two C of I runners in the top 10.
The meet marked the first competition of Homecoming weekend for the Yotes.
