Lacrosse Earns First National Tournament Bid Since 2022

CALDWELL, Idaho - The College of Idaho lacrosse team earned an at-large seed for the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) National Championships presented by New balance. This year's tournament will be held at the Round Rock (Texas) Multipurpose Complex from May 5-10. The Yotes are seeded at no. 15 and will take on the no. 2 seed Grand Valley State. This is the first time the program has qualified for the national tournament since 2022.

The last time the Yotes played Grand Valley State was in the 2019 MCLA National Championship quarterfinal. The Yotes trailed 5-1 early against the then no. 3 Lakers but an incredible second half saw the Yotes come out with an emphatic 13-9 victory. The Lakers were the top ranked team in the final regular season poll but but the Lakers fell in the Upper Midwest Lacrosse Conference (UMLC) title game, which is their only loss of the season so far.

The Yotes started the season on a 9 game winning streak and look to recapture their form and the magic from the 2019 semifinal finish which stands as the best run in program history.
