SURPRISE, Ariz. For the second time in the GSAC Tournament, the College of Idaho women's tennis team faced off against Arizona Christian, and while the Yotes showed improvement, they fell 6-1 in Thursday's consolation match at the Surprise Tennis Center to finish fourth in the conference tournament.
The fifth-seeded Yotes struck first by capturing the doubles point, something they hadn't done in their previous meeting with the Firestorm. Hristina Ljuba and Nicole Tran rallied for a 7-5 win at No. 1 doubles, while Berkley Klarich and Alden Long secured a 6-3 victory on court two.
That early momentum was short-lived, however, as third-seeded ACU swept all six singles matches. Rekasch's comeback win over Ljuba at No. 2 singles (decided in a 10-1 super tiebreak) was the closest contest of the afternoon.
The Yotes wrap up the 2025 campaign with a fourth-place finish in the GSAC, the program's highest placement since joining the conference.
