SURPRISE, Ariz. - The College of Idaho women's tennis team delivered a dominant performance in the consolation bracket of the GSAC Tournament on Tuesday, defeating Hope International 4-1 to secure a rematch with Arizona Christian.
The Yotes took control early, earning the doubles point behind a pair of 6-2 wins at No. 1 and No. 2. Nicole Tran and Hristina Ljuba handled Ellie Black and Nicole Escamillo on court one, while Berkley Klarich and Adele Long overpowered Eva Echeverri and Merrit Dubourdieu at No. 2.
In singles, Klarich continued her strong day with a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 1. Tran followed with a commanding 6-2, 6-1 result at No. 4, before Alden won by default at No. 3, clinching the match for the Yotes. Ljuba's match at No. 2 went unfinished with the team victory secured.
With the win, College of Idaho advances to face Arizona Christian at 10 a.m. on Thursday, aiming to close out the GSAC Tournament with another strong showing.
