CALDWELL, Idaho — The College of Idaho men's golf team claimed a milestone win on Thursday, defeating crosstown rival Northwest Nazarene in a dual match for the first time since 2016.
Junior Parker Edwards led the Yotes with a stellar 5-under-par performance, tying for medalist honors while carding a tournament-best nine birdies. Lucas Rynearson was the only other Yote to finish under par, firing a 3-under 69 that included a clutch eagle on the par-5 18th.
With contributions from Carson King and Braden Brown, who combined to shoot 8-over, the Yotes' "A" team finished at even par — enough to edge NNU's "A" team, which came in at 4-over.
The Yotes' "B" squad also came out on top, with Drisan Booth, Johnny Radford, Kaisaan Virani and Holden Howell combining for a 21-over finish, besting NNU's "B" team at 23-over.
The sweep marked a statement win for the Yotes, whose two teams outperformed both of NNU's squads to underline the program's continued growth.
