FULLERTON, Calif. – The College of Idaho women's tennis team opened its California road trip with a hard-fought match against Stanton University but ultimately fell in a competitive contest on Monday.
The Yotes fought through multiple close battles, with doubles action coming down to the wire. Adele Long and Berkley Klarich pushed their match to a 7-5 decision, while Hristina Ljuba and Nicole Tran secured a 6-4 victory in their doubles matchup. However, Stanton claimed the doubles point with a narrow edge.
In singles play, Klarich delivered the lone victory for the Yotes, posting a strong 6-3, 6-1 win. Long and Ljuba each extended their matches to three sets, displaying resilience before falling in tight contests.
The Yotes will look to bounce back on Tuesday as they take on Hope International.
