CALDWELL, Idaho - The College of Idaho Lacrosse team opened the season with an emphatic win over the visiting Gonzaga Bulldogs. The Yotes used a fast paced offense and stubborn defense to defeat Gonzaga.
Leading the way offensively for the Yotes was freshman
Wyatt Neu. He scored six goals on the night while also putting up two assists for a total of seven points. Also credited with seven points was senior
Alex Ozuna (4 goals, 3 assists). The top point getter for the Yotes was freshman
Grayson Flatten who managed to score five goals and contributed three assists.
Defensively, the Yotes shined. They were grabbing just about every loose ball.
Brady Steen and
Jordan Steele both nabbed seven ground balls.
Kip Childs and
Wyatt Neu also contributed with five ground balls.
The Yotes will continue the home stand on February 21st at 8pm MT at Simplot Stadium.
