WACO, Texas — Two standouts from the College of Idaho football program were honored today as the American Football Coaches Association announced its 2025 AFCA NAIA Coaches' All-America Teams. Senior offensive lineman Ashton Patterson was named to the First Team, while senior defensive back Dee'Shon Swafford earned a spot on the Second Team.
Patterson, who was also named Frontier Conference Offensive Lineman of the Year, has been a cornerstone of the Yotes' offense this season. The senior from Turlock, Calif., has helped power a balanced attack that has positioned the Yotes for a run deep into the NAIA postseason.
Swafford, a San Diego native, has emerged as one of the top defensive playmakers in the Frontier Conference. He enters the national semifinals with 34 total tackles, 8 pass breakups, two interceptions, one forced fumble, and a 65-yard interception return on the season, consistently making game-changing plays for the Yotes.
The College of Idaho will face Keiser University in the NAIA national semifinals on Saturday, Dec. 13, in West Palm Beach, Florida.
