ASHLAND, Neb. - The College of Idaho cross country teams continued their dominant fall campaign on Saturday, as the women's squad ran away with another team title and the men finished second against a deep national field at the Blazing Tiger Classic.
The Yote women once again showcased their depth and balance, packing four runners into the top 10 and a fifth inside the top 20 to total a mere 42 points, more than 30 points clear of the next-best team. Junior Rozzlyn Cazier paced the group with a fourth-place finish in 21 minutes, 37.58 seconds, followed closely by Julia Gilbert (5th, 21:59.87), freshman Ainsley Bowen (6th, 22:05.44), and junior Kylee Quinton (8th, 22:07.04). Freshman Paiten Braseth rounded out the scoring five in 19th with a time of 22:30.79.
On the men's side, the Yotes battled through a loaded field to secure second place overall behind a strong front pack. Isaac Anttonen led the charge with a fifth-place finish in 24:59.72, just ahead of Oclan Ryan in seventh at 25:01.16. Casey Crumley (20th, 25:18.86), Everett Metier (34th, 25:38.84), and Cass Violett (36th, 25:39.36) all contributed key points to seal the runner-up team finish.
With another dominant showing from both squads, the College of Idaho continues to build momentum heading into the championship stretch of the season.
