NEWBERG, Ore. – The College of Idaho women's tennis team showed grit on Thursday in a 6-1 loss to NCAA Division III opponent George Fox University, capping their northwest Oregon road trip.
Adele Long delivered the Yotes' lone victory, earning the team's first singles win of the 2025 season. She dominated the first set, 6-2, before securing a thrilling 7-5 tiebreaker in the second at the No. 3 singles position.
Hristina Ljuba fought through the longest set of the season, pushing her first set to a 10-8 tiebreaker after a 7-6 tie. Despite her efforts, she dropped the next two sets.
In doubles action, Ljuba and Berkley Klarich led the Yotes with a competitive showing in the No. 1 doubles match, scoring three points in a 6-3 loss to the Bruins' top pair.
