Women's Tennis Hristina Ljuba

Yotes Beat the Heat and the Competition at ITA Tournament

Glendale, Ariz. – The College of Idaho tennis team made history at their first-ever ITA tournament, claiming two titles. The Yotes secured a second-place finish in the main doubles draw and a first-place victory in the consolation doubles bracket despite 115 degree heat.

Nicole Tran and Hristina Ljuba had an impressive run, defeating the No. 2 seed from Arizona Christian University 9-7 before falling to the top-seeded Ottawa University team in the finals, 6-2, 6-4. In the consolation bracket, Berkeley Klarich and Alden Long claimed victory with an 8-6 win over Hope International University from California.

In singles, Hristina Ljuba advanced to the quarterfinals after winning two matches but was ultimately defeated by one of the finalists.

The College of Idaho tennis team showed strong potential in their debut ITA Fall Championships tournament, with standout performances in both singles and doubles. Their success in securing titles and competing against top-seeded teams highlights their growth and sets a promising tone for the rest of the season.
