CORVALLIS, Ore. – The College of Idaho Men's and Women's Cross Country teams were recognized as the Under Armour Co-Teams of the Week for September 16–22, the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) announced Sunday.
At the CCC Preview Meet in Portland, Ore., both teams dominated the competition, with the Yotes sweeping the men's and women's team titles.
The No. 6-ranked C of I women's team delivered an impressive performance, placing four runners in the top 10 of the 6k race. Kahea Figueira led the way with a runner-up finish, clocking in at 21:54.06. Julia Gilbert (22:25.03) and Kylee Quinton (22:27.61) secured 5th and 6th place, respectively, while Molly Connor (23:03.91) finished in 8th. The Yotes finished with a dominant team score of 21 points to claim the victory.
On the men's side, College of Idaho swept the top three spots in the 8k race. Daniel Butler led the charge, crossing the finish line in 24:32.67, followed closely by Hayden Bostrom with a personal best of 24:40.04 and Elias Everist in 24:42.44. With six Yotes placing in the top 15, the team earned the title with 31 points.
The accolades continue a successful start to the season for the Yotes, who saw both Figueira and Bostrom named CCC Runners of the Week after individual titles for their season-opening meet performances earlier this month.
Up next, the College of Idaho will head back to Oregon to compete at the Charles Bowles Invitational in two weeks.
