CALDWELL, Idaho – The #19 College of Idaho fell to #10 Northwest Nazarene 22-10. After the first quarter, the Yotes trailed 10-5. The prolific attack from the Nighthawks were slowed down by the Yotes defense to only allow twelve goals for the remainder of the game. Senior
Joaquin Ruby came up with 25 saves in his final game at Simplot Stadium. The Yotes attack had its fair chances to score with 31 shots taken but the Nighthawk defense did a tremendous job to hold the Yotes to ten goals on the night.
Paul O'Neill led the Yotes with six points (four goals, two assists).
Kip Childs' presence was also seen on the scoreboard with his three points (two goals, one assist).
Ty Burnett had another game picking up a lot of loose balls by collecting six groundballs. The Yotes found face offs to be tough tonight. They only won seven out of 21 faceoffs and didn't win a faceoff in the second or third quarter which stifled the Yotes attack from being able to chip away from the lead.
Next week, the Yotes will travel to the PNCLL tournament held in Missoula, Montana hosted by the University of Montana. They hold the #2 South seed in the PNCLL and will face the #1 North seed University of Montana whom they beat at home 11-10 in triple overtime.
