PULLMAN, Wash – The College of Idaho Yotes (4-2) fell to MCLA division one foe Washington State Cougars (2-7). The Yotes and Cougars fought tough in the first quarter in which ended in a 2-2 stalemate. The tight affair continued in the second but the Yotes found themselves up 5-4 at the half. Both sides contributed an additional three goals in the third. The Yotes found themselves up 9-7 with five minutes remaining in the fourth before the Cougars rattled off three quick goals to put themselves in the driver seat for the first time in the game with a 10-9 advantage over the Yotes with 1:35 remaining. With 40 seconds left in regulation, the score was once again knotted up forcing overtime. The Cougars managed to find the game winning goal in sudden victory to end the contest 11-10 in favor of the hometown Cougars.

The Yotes downfall of the night wasn't finding and taking shots, it was a failure to convert. The Yotes scored only 10 goals on 51 shots for a typically clinical attack. Washington State was out shot in the contest, however the Cougars capitalized on their dominance on the counter attack by scoring five goals in fast break transitions.

Joaquin Ruby had a stand out performance in the loss as he made 13 saves between the sticks.
Kale Brunmeier continued his recent award winning form with seven groundballs.
Paul O'Neill led the team in points with 6 (1 goal, 5 assists).
Nate Badger added 3 goals to lead the Yotes in goals as well as dishing out an assist.
Alex Ozuna was able to put 2 goals on the board while adding an assist.
