CALDWELL, IDAHO – The #24 College of Idaho lacrosse (4-1) team opened up PNCLL play with a 27-0 shutout victory over the Pacific Lutheran Lutes (0-4). The high flying Yotes offense continued to punish defenders putting 27 unanswered, led by
Nate Badger's seven goal outing with an additional three assists. A pair of six goal day's by
Alex Ozuna and
Jordan Steele contributed greatly to the tally as well. The offense looked to pass and move around the Lute offense adding up to 17 assists.
Kip Childs led in the distribution of goals with five assists while scoring a pair himself.
The defense came to play today. The stifling defense only allowed one shot on target all game.
Joaquin Ruby and
Alex Saunders split duties in the net, neither allowing a goal. The Yotes defense ate up loose balls and got 50 ground balls in the contest. Attackman
David Alvarado led from the front for the Yotes in groundballs as he picked up eleven.
Brady Steen also picked up ten groundballs in the strong defensive outing.
David Alvarado continued to excel at faceoffs winning 20 out of his 25 faceoffs.
College of Idaho stays at home next weekend as they host #7 Montana (2-1) in PNCLL play. First faceoff is at noon at Simplot Stadium.
