CALDWELL, Idaho – College of Idaho men's golfers -
Ethan Schloss (Reno, Nev.) and Kaissan Virani (Boise, Idaho) - have been recognized by College Sports Communicators as Academic All-District®.
The 2023 Academic All-District® At-Large Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 22.
Schloss posted a 77.95 in 19 rounds in 2022-23 to go along with a pair of top-10 finishes. He was the individual winner of the Cal Maritime Fall Invite (Oct. 17-18, 2022) as the Yotes took home the team title, as well. The men's golf team followed that up with a share of the team title at the Bushnell Tall Timber Invitational, Oct. 24-25, 2022.
Virani recorded an 81.00 average in 15 rounds in 2022-23. He closed out his junior campaign with a season-best and career-best round of 74 at the CCC Championships.
Both were also named to the 2023 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete team. Schloss and Virani are the third and fourth golfers in program history to receive Academic All-District recognition. Michael Piazzani earned all-district honors in 2019 and in 2020 and Reed Maggard picked up all-district honors in 2017.
