KANSAS CITY, Missouri - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the 2023 Daktronics NAIA Men's Golf Scholar-Athletes on Monday. The College of Idaho men's golf team had a pair of honorees – sophomores
Ethan Schloss (Reno, Nev.) and Kaissan Virani (Boise, Idaho). Both Schloss and Virani were a part of a men's golf team that had the lowest scoring average in program history, averaging 302.05. Schloss in 19 rounds, averaged a 79.20 and Virani in 15 rounds, averaged an 85.00.
The 2023 list features 375 student-athletes that achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at their institution. In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.
