PALMDALE, Calif. - The Yotes golf team was back in action, competing at the TMU Spring Invite taking place at Crystalaire Country Club in Palmdale, firing an opening round 316, good for eighth place.
Kaissan Virani and
Parker Edwards both got off to hot starts, recording birdies on the first hole, a par five. Edwards would go on to fire a front nine four-over score of 40, which was one shot ahead of the second place Yote.
Tristan Belue was second on the front nine, firing a five-over 41, before catching fire on the back nine, tallying a birdie on two of his first three holes en route to a one-under 35, ending the first round at four-over 76, which is good for a tie for 14th.
After Virani's front nine, he fired an even par score of 36 on the back to finish the first round in a tie for 33rd at eight over par score of 80.
Shane Rene was another Yote golfer who caught fire on the back nine, firing two under par 34 while not recording a bogey on the back nine.
The Yotes return to the course tomorrow to finish out the tournament.
