College of Idaho Drops 4-3 Decision to Jessup

Box Score ROCKLIN, Calif. - The College of Idaho women's tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision to host Jessup to begin its Spring Break Trip in California on Saturday.

The Yotes started the match, taking two of three doubles matches. Among the winners were the No. 1 team of Lauren Kreutzer and Leiana Almaraz, who won 7-6 (7-4) in a tiebreaker at No. 1 and Nicole Tran and Summer Townsend posted a 6-4 win at No. 3.

In singles play, Almaraz won by a 7-6, 6-3 margin at No. 2 and Anna Willcuts got a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 5. The two wins at singles tied the match at four and was going to be decided by No. 5 between Nicole Tran of College of Idaho and Isabelle Rietz of Jessup. Tran took the early lead with a 6-3 victory in the first set, Rietz evened the match at a set apiece with a 6-4 win in the second set to force a third and deciding set. Rietz went on to win the third set by a 6-2 margin to clinch the match and win the No. 5 flight.

Next, College of Idaho will face Menlo on Monday, Mar. 27 in Atherton.
