HELENA, Mont. – College of Idaho quarterback
Andy Peters for the fourth time in 2023 has been named the Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Football Offensive Player of the Week.
On Saturday in a 42-38 win over Eastern Oregon, Peters threw for a career-best and record-setting five touchdowns in the win over the Mountaineers. Against EOU, he completed 16 of 25 passes for 219 yards and five touchdowns. The five touchdown passes gave him the school single-season touchdown mark with 25 – shattering the old mark of 21 held by Boyd Crawford in 1953 and Darius-James Peterson in 2019. The five touchdown passes in the game by Peters ties the single-game mark held by Peterson on October 26, 2019.
Not only did he do it with his arm, but he did it with his feet as he ran 14 times for 101 yards. The 101 yards gave him his third 100-yard rushing game of the season.
With records dating back to 2017, Peters is the first player in conference history to receive four offensive honors in a season.
