GLENEDEN BEACH, Ore. - The College of Idaho men's golf team took third in the Coastal Collegiate Classic, hosted by Corban.
Parker Edwards was the low tournament scorer for the Yotes, ending the tournament in fifth place after shooting a final round score of nine over par, a score of 80. Edwards would par his first four holes of the final round before recording back to back bogeys, ultimately ending his front nine with a four over 39. Following a birdie, par, par start on the back nine, a pair of double bogeys would set Edwards back, but he would bounce back with pars on three of his final four holes of the tournament to shoot a five over 41 on the back nine to end as the low scorer for the team.
The low round of the day went to
Carson King, who would finish the round at two over par, and end the tournament in eighth place. Following four straight pars to start the front nine, King would fire off birdies in three of the last five holes on the opening nine, heading into the back nine at three under for the round. Following a birdie and a par on holes 10 and 11, King would have a quadruple bogey on the 12th, then rattle off four straight pars, ultimately ending his found at two over 73.
Jack Phipps would end his tournament in 15th place after a final round score of four over par 75. After alternating between bogey and par through four holes, Phipps would birdie the fifth and then rattle off four straight pars to end the front nine, ending at one over. Heading into the back nine, Phipps would record a par on seven of the nine holes, having one bogey and a double bogey to end his tournament.Â
Braden Brown shot his best round of the tournament, ending with a final round score of five over 76. Brown would record a par on six of his opening nine holes, recording a bogey on holes three, seven, and eight. The back nine was similar to his opening nine, recording a par on seven of nine holes, with a bogey on 12 and 14.
Evan Inglesby rounded out the Yotes scoring, ending his tournament with a final round score of 18 over 89. He would card a birdie on the tenth hole and then par his final four holes of the round to end his tournament.
The Yotes will next tee off at the PCH Invitational in Carmel, California hosted by Menlo.
