KELLOGG, Idaho – The College of Idaho women's skiing team posted a total time of 4:36.28 to win the NCWSC Qualifier Slalom at the Silver Mountain Resort on Saturday.
The total time of 4:36.28 by the Yotes led College of Idaho over the eight-team field and just over four seconds ahead of runner up, the University of Oregon, who had a time of 4:42.60.
"The conditions were tough today with very hard snow, so there were some struggles," said head coach Aaron Flynn. "We did a good job as a team today."
The top combined time of 1:23.73 by
Sasha Mueller led the Yotes, who had a time of 41.58 on her first run and a time of 42.15 on her second run. Teammate
Taylor Watkins was fourth, who had the fastest run of the day with an opening run of 41.47 en route to a combined time of 1:28.26. The third skier for the Yotes was
Kayla Vandecoevering, who was 18
th with a combined time of 1:44.29.
The teams close out the weekend tomorrow with a second slalom qualifier.
