CALDWELL, Idaho – The College of Idaho men's golf team closed out the College of Idaho Invitational with a round of 290 – the third-lowest 18-hole total in program history. The 290 was the second lowest round among the teams in Tuesday's final round. The 290 contributed to a 54-hole total of 896 which is tied for the second lowest round in program history.
There were a lot of contributions to the success in the tournament for College of Idaho including a pair of top-10 finishes noted head coach
Jeff Davies. In the top 10 for College of Idaho was
Tristan Belue, who finished sixth with a +2, 218 (73-73-72) and
Camden Chose, who shared 10
th with a +5, 221 (71-71-79) to lead the host institution.
Another one of the key contributions was the final round at one-under par, 71 shot by
Ethan Schloss to finish with a 54-hole total of 230 (79-80-71) to share 26
th place overall. College of Idaho also got a 71 in the final round from newcomer
Parker Edwards, who was playing in his first collegiate tournament. Edwards finished the tournament with a 54-hole total of 239 (84-84-71). The other newcomer in the lineup
Braden Brown posted his best round of the tournament with a 76 on Tuesday for a 54-hole total of 235 (79-80-76).
Also, for College of Idaho, its "B" squad featured newcomer
Jack Theiss, who shot a 54-hole total of 238 (77-77-84) in his C of I debut.
Kaisaan Virani posted a 238 (80-81-77),
Jacob Patterson shot a 244 (83-78-83) and
John Scott Senz recorded a 260 (89-88-83).
CCC member University of British Columbia took home the team title with a 868 (297-283-288) and Grayson Giboney of NNU won the individual title with a 212 (71-70-71) for a two-stroke victory.
Up next, C of I will take part in the Multnomah Invitational where it will play against many of its fellow CCC foes, Sept. 26-27 at Elk Ridge Golf Course in Carson, Washington.
