GULF SHORES, Alabama – The College of Idaho men's track and field teams began competition at the 2022 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Wednesday. Lightning and weather has forced a rescheduling of the events for the coming days.
Before the weather impacted competition, the College of Idaho decathlete
Caleb Brown began his two-day, 10-event competition in the decathlon. Through five events, Brown is in 15
th place with 3,152 points. He started the day with a time of 12.08 in the 100m dash for 635 points. He followed that with a clearance of 6.09m in the high jump to pick up 606 points. His third event of the day saw him post a toss of 11.34m in the shot put for 566 points. Brown posted his best performance of the day in the high jump, clearing 1.89m for 705 points. His fifth and final event of the day saw him post a time of 54.00 and record 640 points in the 400m dash. On Thursday, he and the field will take part in the 110m hurdles, the discus, the pole vault, javelin and 1,500m run.
Among the events postponed for the men were the 4x800m relay and the 3,000m steeplechase.
