GULF SHORES, Alabama – The College of Idaho women's track and field teams began competition at the 2022 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Wednesday. Lightning and weather has forced a rescheduling of the events for the coming days.
Before the weather impacted competition, the College of Idaho senior
Catylynn Duff took second in the hammer throw with a toss of 179-6 (54.73m). For Duff, it is her fifth career All-American honor by virtue of her top eight finish. Teammate
Emily Fox in her first NAIA Championship was 20
th with a toss of 154-9 (47.18m).
Later in the day, the Yotes' 4x100m relay team of Charlotte Wilson,
Roby Young,
Sage Wood and
Jessica Dorohov posted a time of 48.15 to finish 22
nd.
The first athlete to compete at the champion for the women was heptathlete
Roby Young, who is in 14
th place with 2,672 points. Young began the two-day, eight-event competition with a time of 15.63 in the 100m hurdles for 760 points. She followed that up with a clearance of 1.52m for 644 points in the high jump. Young recorded a toss of 9.69m and 509 points, wrapping up the day with a time of 26.44 in the 200m dash for 759 points.
