NAIA Championships Day Two Filled with Gutsy Performances and Final Berths

MARION, Ind. -  The College of Idaho track and field team delivered a thrilling second day at the NAIA Outdoor National Championships, highlighted by standout performances, All-American honors and multiple qualifications for Friday's finals.

The day began with a celebratory moment as Hayden Bostrom, Daniel Butler and Elias Everist received their All-American medals for their performances in Wednesday's 10,000-meter final. The trio's hard-fought efforts set the tone for another successful day on the track.

In the women's 800-meter prelims, Kylee Quinton continued her breakout championship debut. The sophomore exceeded her seed and clinched the final qualifying spot with the ninth-best time of the day. She will compete in the 800-meter final on Friday, shortly after racing in the 3,000-meter steeplechase final. The demanding double highlights her resilience and rising-star status.

Graduate student Charlotte Bowman delivered a clutch performance in the 100-meter dash prelims, winning her heat by a razor-thin margin of 0.02 seconds to secure an automatic spot in Friday's final. Her poise and power at the line reflected the composure of a seasoned competitor.

Next on the track was the women's 5,000-meter prelims. Kahea Figueira ran a composed race, finishing second in her heat to punch her ticket to the final. On the men's side, Elias Everist was slated to race, but due to scratches in the field, the event was advanced directly to Friday's championship final, giving him another shot at the podium.

The day closed with a pair of spirited 4x400-meter relays. The women's squad featured Charlotte Bowman, Zoe Butler, Kylee Quinton and Isis Villafane. The group finished 17th overall, significantly outperforming their original seed and showcasing the depth of the Yotes' talent. In the men's relay, Dylan Wolfe, Jonah Sowell, Trevor Treat and Zach Curtsinger capped the day with a strong effort. For Curtsinger, it marked the final race of an impactful collegiate career. The men also outperformed their seed significantly.

With several finalists ready to compete, the Yotes are set for an exciting Championship Friday as they look to close out the 2025 season on a high note.
