ASHLAND, Ore. – The College of Idaho women's track and field team is in second place after the first day of the 2022 Cascade Collegiate Conference Track & Field Championship.
The first win on the day came from
Catylynn Duff, who was victorious in the hammer throw with a toss of 177-0 (53.97m) and teammate
Emily Fox was seventh with a throw of 152-10 (46.58m). Duff also was third in the shot put with a throw of 42-3 ½ (12.89m) and teammate
Esther Ezeogu was fifth with a heave of 40-4 ¾ (12.31m).
The final race of the night saw College of Idaho take first and second in the 10,000m run as
Ellyse Tingelstad and Roba Anna were first (38:03.17) and second (38:30.83), respectively.
The Yotes'
Sage Martin and
Larissa Mauer were second (10:32.98) and sixth (11:31.35) in the 3,000m steeplechase. The Yotes' 4x100m relay team of Charlotte Wilson,
Roby Young,
Sage Wood and
Jessica Dorohov was third with a NAIA "A" qualifying mark of 47.85.
College of Idaho picked up crucial points in the team race as
Abbey Shirts took fifth in the 1,500m run with a time of 4:39.47, plus
Roby Young was the first of three Yotes across the finish line in the 400m dash with a time of 58.88. Young was also ninth in the long jump with a leap of 5.12m
