NAMPA, Idaho - The College of Idaho competed against fellow CCC foes Eastern Oregon and Lewis-Clark State as well as host Northwest Nazarene University at the 2022 NNU Invitational and Multi Events on Friday and Saturday.
Friday's action saw
Catylynn Duff (pictured) record a NAIA "A" qualifying mark with a toss of 172-8 (52.63m) in the hammer throw. The toss is the fifth-best performance in school history. Plus, Roba Anna won the 10,000 meter run with a CCC Championship qualifying time of 40:30.01. The time by Anna is the 19th fastest in the NAIA to date.
Lily Campbell took fifth in the hammer throw with a throw of 140-11 (42.95) and javelin with a throw of 120-6 (36.73m). Both performances by Campbell are CCC Championship qualifying marks and her toss in the javelin is the 29th best to date in the NAIA.
Emily Fox was fourth in the hammer throw with a toss of 150-9 (45.95m). The throw by Fox qualifies her for the CCC Championship.
Saturday's first action on the track for the Yotes saw
Sage Martin win the 1,500m run in a CCC Championship qualifying time of 4:46.36. The performance by Martin is the 31st best to date in the NAIA. Another victory for College of Idaho came when
Abbey Shirts won the 800m run in a time of 2:16.98, just shy of a NAIA "B" qualifying mark (2:16.00). The performance by Shirts is the eighth-fastest time in the NAIA to date. Teammate
Kahea Figueira was fourth in 2:24.41. The third win on the track for the Yotes was
Larissa Mauer in the 5,000m run with a time of 18:37.18 which is also a CCC Championship qualifying time.
Kierstin Lancaster led C of I in the hurdle races with a NAIA "B" qualifying time of 14.61 in the 100m hurdles (14.61) en route to a second-place finish and she was third in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:05.48. The Yotes'
Sage Wood was third in the 400m (1:01.66) and in the 200m (26.67). Charlotte Wilson was fourth (26.89) and Jessica Dorhov was fifth (26.92) in the 200m dash for the Yotes.
In the field events, Duff was second in the discus with a throw of 130-3 (39.70m) and
AaLea Kolb was fourth with a toss of 129-2 (39.38m). Duff took third in the shot put with a heave of 42-2 (12.85m) and
Esther Ezeogu was fourth with a throw of 40-8 1/4 (12.40m). Plus,
Naeve Rodgers was third in the long jump with a leap of 16-5 (5.00m) and
Dylan Lovett was fourth with a jump of 15-6 (4.72m).
Cassidy Stoddard secured a NAIA "B" qualifying clearance of 5-4 1/2 (1.64m) in the high jump in the heptathlon.
The two-day heptathlon saw
Roby Young record a winning effort with 4,305 points – the fifth highest total in the NAIA to date. Some highlights of her performance were her victories in the shot put (33-5 ¾ / 10.20m / 543 pts.), 200m dash (26.62 / 744 pts.) and 800m run (2:34.29 / 640 pts.).
