CALDWELL, Idaho – A five-goal, six assist effort by
Casey Davies to go along with a four-goal effort by
Loy Howard and a hat trick each from
Parker Archuleta, Joseph Brant and
Brad Hale led No. 8 The College of Idaho men's lacrosse team to a 21-4 win over Western Oregon on Sunday.
The offensive fireworks were not the only impressive effort on the windy day, noted head coach
Alan Morgan. "I thought the defense showed out great today. We were able to create some big takeaways and were solid in the transition part of the game. Freshman
Jacob Wong stepped up big in the cage."
Wong, who earned his first start at goalkeeper, made six saves and four ground balls in the win. C of I scored eight goals in the first two quarters en route to a 16-4 halftime lead as they also had a 37-12 advantage in shots through the first 30 minutes.
