A FULL NAIA CHAMPIONSHIP: For the first-time in association history, the NAIA Championship will be a 64-team event, beginning with 16 Opening Round sites across the country. Following the 2019-20 season, the NAIA merged the Division I and Division II schools into one division - however, due to COVID, the 2021 championship featured just 48 teams.
HISTORY OF THE TOURNAMENT: The NAIA Championships is the oldest basketball tournament in college athletics, as James Naismith began the event in 1937 to crown a national champion for small colleges and universities. The tournament has been held every year except 1944 (due to World War II) and 2020 (due to the COVID-19 pandemic).

JUST WIN BABY: Thursday's win over Grace was a school record win No. 32 for the Coyotes. The previous best single-season win total of 31 was shared by the 1995-96 and 2019-20 teams.
FAMILIAR FACE: Loyola junior guard Jaden Galloway spent three years at the College of Idaho from 2018-20 where he saw action in 79 games and in 2019-20, he was named NAIA Honorable Mention All-American and all-CCC honors.
NEW OPPONENT: Saturday will mark the first meeting between the Wolfpack of Loyola and College of Idaho. It is the first time in program history that C of I has played a school from the state of Louisiana.
ST. PATRICK'S DAY SUCCESS: On Thursday,
Jake O'Neil scored in double figures (15 points) for the fourth time in five games and 11 of his last 13 games. On three occasions in 2021-22, O'Neil has scored at least 15 points. Against the Lancers, he pulled down a team-high and game-high 11 rebounds for his fourth double double of the season.
BENCH SUCCESS: On Thursday, against Grace, senior
Ivory Miles-Williams and redshirt freshman
Jake O'Neil scored 16 and 15 points, respectively to the lead the 'Yotes. The two helped the C of I bench outscore Grace by a 37-13 margin – including a convincing 20 to 4 advantage in the second half - in the win. The depth of the bench was on firm display as they have outscored their opponent counterparts in 32 of 35 games on the season.
WHY NOT DREW WYMAN: Drew Wyman scored 12 points for his 23
rd game in double figures and for the fourth-straight game.
1,000 POINTS: With 13 points on Thursday, senior
Ricardo Time became the 29th player in program history to reach the 1,000 career point mark. With 1,002 career points he is 28
th on the all-time scoring list.

Tyler Harris saw a season-high 10 minutes of action on Thursday. He had seen a combined 58 minutes in his previous 17 games.
FINISHING STRONG: Senior
Ivory Miles-Williams led C of I in scoring for the third time on the season with 16 points against Grace. The 16 points came after being held scoreless for the first time since March 9, 2019 against Morningside.
