ACCOMPLISHMENTS AT C OF I:
Handran is in his fourth season with the Coyote men's basketball program. During his time here, he has achieved two Final Four finishes, three CCC regular season championships (2022-2024), three National Tournament appearances (2022-2024), a National Championship (2023), two CCC Tournament championships (2022, 2023), and an Elite Eight finish (2022).
2023-24: Played in 36 games, starting in 7… averaged 18.3 minutes per game, making 48.4% of his shots from the field… scored a total of 117 points, averaging 3.3 points per game… recorded 97 assists, averaging 2.7 assists per game… contributed 136 rebounds, with 44 offensive and 92 defensive… registered 27 steals and 11 blocks… had a free-throw percentage of 75.8% (25 of 33)… made 2 three-pointers during the season.
2022-23: Played in 36 games, starting in 35 …averaged 20.6 minutes per game, making 52.5% of his shots from the field…one of 9 Yotes to score over 100 points in the season…third assist leader on the team with 75 assists…averaged 4.1 rebounds, 3.4 points and 2.1 assists per game with a 2.7 assist to turnover ratio... scored a career 14 points in two games, making six shots in each game... 51 of his 149 rebounds were on the offensive side of the ledger... made a 3 pointer in 5 games... made 2 free throws in 4 games... grabbed a career high 10 rebounds and dished out a season high 7 assists against Multnomah (Dec 16)... contributed 8 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists in the round of 16 of the National Tournament against LSU Shreveport (March 13).
2021-22: Played in 35 games, starting 30 – including 29 of the last 30 games of the season…averaged 21.2 minutes per game, making 58.3% of his shots from the field…one of 10 Yotes to score over 100 points in the season…led team with 110 assists…averaged 4.9 rebounds, 3.3 points and 3.1 assists per game…made all of his shots from the field in nine games…60 of his 171 rebounds were on the offensive side of the ledger…led C of I in rebounding in three games…scored a season-high 11 points, making all four of his shots from the field to go along with eight rebounds in the CCC Tournament Championship game against Southern Oregon (Mar. 1)…grabbed a season-high nine rebounds at Montana Tech (Nov. 12)…averaged 3.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game against CCC foes.
Across his collegiate career, Handran has played a total of 108 games, averaging 20.0 points per game. With a total of 458 rebounds and 283 assists, he has have proven to be a dynamic player, contributing significantly on both ends of the court.
HIGH SCHOOL:
A 2021 graduate of Scobey High School in Montana, Handran helped his team secure the Class C state titles in 2020 and 2021. He was a four-time Class C All-State selection, with his high school team never losing a regular-season game. In the classroom, Handran also made the honor roll.
PERSONAL:
Joining the Yote Fam from Scobey, MT, Caden was raised by Cale and Brianne Handran. Aside from his efforts on the court, Caden is also working hard in the classroom in pursuit of degrees in Philosophy and Business. He chose The College of Idaho because “I had previous relationships with coaches and players and wanted to be challenged academically”.
