Box Score 2 NEWBERG, Ore. - The College of Idaho women's tennis team dropped a pair of decisions, 6-1 and 7-2 to NCAA Division III / Northwest Conference foe, George Fox. After a match was canceled earlier in the week, the Coyotes managed to shuffle the schedule and get a second match with the Bruins on Saturday.
The day started with the Bruins getting wins at two of three doubles matches to start the day for a point. The lone win in doubles for C of I came at the No. 1 flight with a 6-4 win by
Lauren Kreutzer and
Taylor Johnson. Kreutzer also got a victory in singles with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Danielle Brown. GFU managed to win the other five singles matches en route to the 6-1 win.
The second match of the day saw Johnson and Kreutzer team up for their second win of the day with an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles. Kreutzer also got another singles win as she outlasted Ellie Mangan, 2-6, 6-4, 10-4 for the win. The No. 2 singles flight matchup between the Coyotes' Leiana Almara and the Bruins' Danielle Brown was tightly contested. Almaraz lost by a 2-6, 6-4, 12-10 margin.
Next, C of I will face Portland State on Sunday, March 6 at 8 a.m.
