CALDWELL, Idaho –
Catylynn Duff became the first NAIA thrower to surpass the 60-foot mark in the weight throw this season, while
Sage Martin and
Ellyse Tingelstad punched their ticket to Nationals in the 3,000-meters, as The College of Idaho closed out competition at the Polar Vortex Classic at Caldwell High.
Duff broke her own school record with the monster heave of 18.69 meters (61 feet, 4 inches) – adding nearly three feet to her school mark, while improving her No. 1 mark in the NAIA this season. She also placed second in the shot put (13.08 meters, 42 feet, 11 inches).
Martin and Tinglestad, who each earned All-America honors in cross country, clocked the top-two times in the 3,000-meters, as Martin won the race with a time of 10:25.28, just ahead of Tingelstad's 10:25.95 – each hitting the NAIA "B" cut.
On the track, Chloe Barlyski posted times of 8.09 seconds in the 60-meters and 26.27 seconds in the 200-meters, placing second overall.
Kahea Figueira was C of I's top finisher in the 600-meters (1:43.21), with
Charlie Duff leading five Coyotes in the mile (5:29.37).
In the jumps,
Morgan Harrison cleared 1.69 meters (5 feet, 3 inches), with
Sophi Clay winning the triple jump (10.82 meters / 35 feet, 6 inches).
C of I will have next weekend off in preparation for the NAIA Indoor National Championships in Brookings, S.D.
