SPOKANE, Wash. / POCATELLO, Idaho – For the 14th time in the last 15 years, The College of Idaho women's distance medley relay has qualified for the NAIA Indoor National Championships, highlighting a big day at two venues for the Coyotes.
Competing at the Lilac Grand Prix at The Podium in Spokane, the team of
Sage Martin,
Charlotte Bowman,
Roby Young and
Abbey Shirts placed fourth in an elite DMR field, with their time of 12;27.04 hitting the NAIA "B" standard.
The buik of the Coyote team competed at the Mountain State Games inside Holt Arena – with
Kiersten Lancaster punching her ticket to Nationals with a solid 9.07 second run in the 60-meter hurdles. The senior hit the NAIA "B" standard and advanced to tomorrow's finals.
Jessica Dorohov had a big day in the sprints, qualifying for the finals in both the 60-meters (7.97) and 200-meters (26.13) – setting a personal-best time and the No. 4 mark in program history in the 200.
In the throws,
Catylynn Duff improved her top shot put mark (12.66 meters / 41-feet, 6-inches) , placing fourth, while
Sophi Clay led the C of I contingent in the long jump (4.92 / 16-1.75).
Tomorrow, the squad in Spokane will compete at the Whitworth Invite, while the remaining Yotes will race in Day 2 of the MSG.
