POCATELLO, Idaho –
Abbey Shirts and
Sage Martin hit national qualifying marks in the mile and
Catylynn Duff broke her own school record in the weight throw, as The College of Idaho track team returned to action at the Stacy Dragila Open in Holt Arena.
Competing in a 40-person field, Shirts placed sixth overall with a time of 5:09.40 – but due to an altitude conversion, her converted time of 5:03.50 met the NAIA "A" qualifying standard. Martin was the benefactor of racing at 4,500-feet – as her tenth-place time of 5:18.59 was converted to 5:12.52 – meeting the "B" standard.
Duff had another big day – placing second in a deep weight throw field, launching her final attempt 17.90 meters (58 feet, 8.75 inches) – extending her lead among all NAIA competitors and breaking her own school mark by seven centimeters.

Emily Fox led the Yotes in the shot put (11.66 m / 38-3 ¼),
Sophi Clay had a solid effort in the triple jump (10.58 m / 34-8 ½),
Naeve Rodgers recorded the top long jump mark (4.91 m / 16-1 ½) and
