Catylynn Duff started her 2022 track and field season off with a bang, posting the No. 1 weight throw mark in the NAIA, part of a big opening day for the College of Idaho women's indoor squad at the Snake River Open.

Duff, who earned All-America honors last winter in the weight throw and shot put, unleashed the second-best weight throw mark in C of I history, placing third in a deep field with a distance of 17.64 meters (57 feet, 10.5 inches), hitting the NAIA automatic standard. She followed it up with a win in the shot put (12.58 meters / 41 feet, 3.25 inches), besting a field of 10 athletes.
A pair of freshmen had quality debuts in the jumps – as
Cassidy Stoddard was the Yotes top finisher in the high jump (1.55 meters / 5 feet, 1 inch), with
Dylan Lovett posting a mark of 5.00 meters (16 feet, 5 inches) in the long jump.
A record 18 C of I runners competed in the sprint events, paced by
Jessica Dorohov, who placed third in the finals of the 60-meters – recording a personal-best time of 7.94 seconds – the second-fastest time ever by a Coyote. Dorohov also had the fastest time for the Yotes in the 200-meters (27.22).
The Yotes will return to Holt Arena in two weeks for the Stacy Dragila Classic.
