BOISE, Idaho - Playing their fourth consecutive NCAA Division I opponent, The College of Idaho women's tennis team saw marked improvement in doubles' action today in a 7-0 loss to Montana State inside the Boas Tennis Center.
Both the Yotes (0-6) No. 1 and No. 2 doubles' teams had their best outings of the season to headline the morning. The duo of
Lauren Kreutzer and
Taylor Johnson held a 3-2 lead on Laura Mary and Mirte Van Baelen, before eventually dropping a 6-4 decision to the top Bobcat (1-5) pair, while
Leiana Almaraz and
Sara Altfas played well in a 6-3 loss at No. 2 to Enni Zander and Jazmin Lerman.
MSU dominated singles play, sweeping four of the six matches. Almaraz and Lerman had the tight contest at No. 4, with Lerman outlasting the C of I junior, 6-3, 6-2.
C of I will take the next two weeks off in preparation for an early April trip to meet Lewis-Clark State.
