ROCKLIN, Calif. – A dominant performance by
Ellyse Tingelstad and The College of Idaho women's cross country team netted the Yotes the team title at the Warrior Invitational at the William Jessup Cross Country Course.
The Coyotes had all five of their scoring runners in the Top-13 – led by Tingelstad, who bested the field in a time of 17:31 over the 5-kilometer distance. C of I finished with 38 team points, well ahead of nationally-ranked teams from Westmont (55) and Southern Oregon (77).
Larissa Mauer placed fifth (17:46),
Abbey Shirts took ninth (18:08),
Kahea Figueira placed tenth (18:13), with
Sage Martin in 13th (18:34) – as C of I had a 63-second split between their first and fifth scoring athletes.
The time by Tingelstad was the fastest by a C of I athlete on the course, three seconds ahead of the mark set by
Molly Vitale-Sullivan in 2017.
C of I competes next in two weeks at the Cascade Conference Championships, hosted by Oregon Tech, in Klamath Falls, Ore.
