OFF TO MONTANA AGAIN: For the sixth-straight season, the Yotes will compete at the Big Sky Volleyball Challenge, hosted by Montana Tech, at the Butte Civic Center. The event features three courts running simultaneously, with 12 teams competing in the two-day tournament. C of I has a 16-4 record at the tournament – including perfect 4-0 marks each of the last three seasons.
NO CALIFORNIA TRIP: For the first time since 2010, C of I will not play a regular-season match in California – but instead, host a tournament in the Activities Center for the first time since 2012. The Yotes will host four other schools as part of the C of I Labor Day Classic, which will run August 30-31.
SEASON OPENERS: C of I has posted an 11-19 record in their opening game of a season, dating back to the 1989 campaign – but have opened the season at home just once since 1994 (a 2012 home win over William Jessup).
