MISSOULA, Mont. - The College of Idaho will meet the University of Montana for the Pacific Northwest Collegiate Lacrosse League Division II title tomorrow after a 22-7 victory over Central Washington at Washington Grizzly Stadium.
Casey Davies became the first Coyote (11-0) to score 100 points in a season, recording seven goals and three assists - as C of I used a 13-0 scoring run over a 31-minute stretch to reach the title game.
The Wildcats (8-3) scored two goals late in the first quarter to pull even at 5-5, before C of I clamped down defensively. A Davies goal started the run, with
Joey Brant finding the net with just one second left in the period to make it 7-5.
Hank Ontiveros and Davies each scored a pair of second quarter goals, with a
Ryan Henning goal with five minutes left in the third quarter extending the margin to 18-5.
Brant scored five goals, Henning had four goals and four assists, wth Ontiveros logging a hat trick in the victory.
