Yotes Stop Mills and Chaminade to Close Hawaii Trip

| Box Score 2

HONOLULU, Hawaii – The College of Idaho capped their trip to Oahu with consecutive wins – rolling past Division III Mills College and earning a tight victory over Division II Chaminade University at the Ala Moana Tennis Courts.

The Yotes (2-7) earned a 6-1 victory over Mills in a match that did not go to completion due to time constraints on the courts, while C of I won 2-of-3 doubles points to topple host Chaminade, 5-4.

C of I dominated singles play against the Cyclones (0-5) – sweeping the final five spots in the ladder to earn the team win. Both Leiana Almaraz and Natalie Little won all 12 games in their matches – Almaraz defeating Dana Culpepper and Little stopping Grace Deaton by identical 6-0, 6-0 victories.

Against the Silverswords (3-6), the Yotes avenged a Monday loss – as Little and Alex Sorte earned an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles over Catrina Liner and Calamasina Te'I and Almaraz and Marissa Shirley cruised to an 8-1 victory at No. 3 over Angelica Almilla and Caitlin Tatemichi.

Chaminade pulled even with a win at No. 1 singles, but the Yotes earned three-straight wins – Ewing at No. 5 (6-0, 6-1 over Almilla), Little at No. 3 (6-4, 6-2 over Elyssa Shirai) and the clincher by Taylor Little at No. 6 (7-5, 6-1 over Tatemichi) – to earn the team victory.

C of I returns to action in two weeks, traveling to Pacific Lutheran and Puget Sound.
