ATLANTA, Ga. – For the second-straight season, the College of Idaho was ranked in the preseason Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association Division II Preseason Top-25 poll, earning a No. 15 ranking from the 16 national raters.
The Yotes, coming off a 12-3 season, winning their second-straight Pacific Northwest Collegiate Lacrosse League South Division title and their first-ever PNCLL championship – earned 193 voter points – just five points out of the No. 13 position.
North Dakota State claimed 14 first-place votes and earned the No. 1 spot, followed by St. Thomas (Minn.) and Minnesota Duluth – the team that eliminated C of I from last season's MCLA national tournament.
C of I will have an ambitious 12-game schedule – which includes four preseason Top-25 teams and four other opponents receiving votes in the poll. After opening against Gonzaga (RV) in Caldwell, the Yotes travel for games on back-to-back days at No. 6 Montana State and No. 11 Montana, will meet No. 21 UC-Santa Cruz on a neutral field and host No. 10 Cal State San Marcos. The team will also meet Utah State, Western Oregon and Portland – all receiving votes in the preseason poll.
